Together, you and DLUSA will evaluate and determine precisely what courses you need to meet the academic requirements to earn your degree.
2.
Using the DLUSA self-paced study guide system, you will prepare for a standardized examination in each of the courses you need. DLUSA supplies you with all necessary study materials. DLUSA has already done your research so all you need to do is study and retain the material that is outlined in the DLUSA study guide for that subject.
3.
When you have completed the study guide and feel comfortable with your understanding of the material, DLUSA will work with you to schedule the examination at a cooperating college, university, or test center near where you live.
4.
After you have challenged and passed all of the necessary requirements, you will be ready to enroll in Excelsior College (formerly Regents College). You will then be scheduled by Excelsior College to take the clinical performance component of the program. Excelsior College will prepare you in advance for this component by providing you with a clinical guide which outlines what to expect and what you will need to demonstrate during the clinical performance examinations.
5.
When you have successfully completed all academic and clinical requirements, you will have earned your degree in Nursing (AS(n) or BSN). Your degree will be conferred by Excelsior College of the State of New York. With your associate degree, you will have satisfied state requirements and be entitled to sit for the NCLEX RN Board Examination. Even before you challenge the boards, you are eligible to practice as a Graduate RN.
Today, more and more hospitals and licensed medical facilities are requiring RN licenser. So, if you are an experienced LPN or LVN and your goal is to be an RN, but just cant afford the time or cost to return to college, then you need to seriously consider the DLUSA program.
Nurses currently holding an RN designation who desire a BSN degree can earn this degree using the DLUSA study programs explained above and realize the next step in their education.
Your BSN degree will open many additional doors of opportunity in your profession and allow you to function in any setting - hospital, community health, industry, school systems, etc.
Don't let the lack of a degree keep you from earning what you deserve.
