Course Description

Focuses on the nursing process and on nursing care of patients in the following areas: comfort and pain, human sexuality, cultural diversity, chronic illness, community-based nursing, needs of the childbearing family, sensory impairments, and reproductive disorders . Includes common concepts of nursing care and nursing actions common to all patients throughout the life cycle. Focuses on patient needs and the nursing care actions associated with them. Assumes the knowledge of anatomy and physiology, psychosocial and physical development, and microbiology generally expected of the associate degree nurse. (This is a required examination for the Excelsior College nursing degrees. Multiple choice examination.)
